Integral Access Expands Global Services Portfolio for PurePacket
Multi-Service Access System
Support for G.SHDSL, ISDN, and V5.2 Standards Enables Carriers to Deliver
Integrated Business Class IP Services Anywhere in the World
ATLANTA - June 3, 2002 - Integral Access®, Inc. -- the intelligent
IP access network company -- today announced here at SuperComm 2002 a
major new release of the PurePacket access network system that provides
global service delivery capabilities with support for the internationally
recognized G.SHDSL, ISDN, and V5.2 standards. PurePacket v6.0, the leading
MPLS-based multi-service access solution for the last mile, provides a
single platform for delivering multiple wire line voice and broadband
services worldwide. In addition to the enhanced version of the PurePacketNode®
carrier network platform, Integral Access announced a new model in its
portfolio of complementary Integrated Access Devices (IAD) -- the four
port ISDN BRI PurePacketOUTburst®-Sx4. Integral Access will demonstrate
the PurePacket system at SuperComm booth 11831 in Hall "C" of
the Georgia World Congress Center.
"The ability to provide our customers with integrated business class
services over a single copper pair substantially lowers our operational
costs compared to using an E1 or lease additional copper lines, and gives
us a tremendous competitive advantage," said Sascha Holste, managing
director for teliko, a leading competitive local exchange carrier in Germany.
"The PurePacket system not only allows us to increase revenues by
using copper access lines, but its dynamic use of network resources enables
us to deliver a wider range of billable service bundles over our existing
infrastructure."
PurePacketNode Enhancements
The addition of G.SHDSL, ISDN, and V5.2 complements PurePacket's existing
support for the T1/E1, ADSL, SDSL, GR303 and MGCP standards, and extends
Integral Access' commitment to support leading industry standards. These
new capabilities enable international carriers to combine ISDN voice and
high speed DSL data traffic on a single copper line, and to connect IP-based
PurePacket access networks to Class 5 circuit switches. Also, by providing
support for SoftSwitches via MGCP and Class 5 switches via the V5.2/GR-303
protocols, the PurePacket system allows service providers to immediately
benefit from the operational and service creation efficiencies of IP access
networks, and migrate to an IP voice network when ready.
PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4 Delivers SOHO Services
The new PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4 is designed to meet the voice and data
needs of SOHO (Small Office Home Office) users by supporting 4 basic rate
ISDN or up to eight simultaneous voice conversations, and transporting
up to 2Mb/s of data traffic in each direction on a single G.SHDSL line.
To allow carriers to offer a competitively priced range of services and
increase revenues, the flexible PurePacket system enables DSL data rates
to be programmed in different increments from 192 kbps up to 2,320 kbps.
In addition, carriers can choose to offer any combination of one to eight
voice lines to individual customers. For rapid service activation, PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4
devices can be remotely configured and monitored by the PurePacketOMS
(Operations Management System) as soon as they are added to the network.
The compact wall or desktop mountable PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4 can be connected
to an ISDN PBX system, or can directly connect up to four ISDN handsets.
It includes one Ethernet 10BaseT data port, a G.SHDSL port for connecting
to the carrier network, and also includes built-in DHCP and Network Address
Translation (NAT). The PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4 supports a comprehensive
portfolio of IP services including Voice over IP, Voice over DSL, IP Virtual
Private Networks (VPN), and LAN interconnect, as well as legacy services
including ISDN BRI voice, and ISDN interconnect.
"This new release of the PurePacket system enables international
carriers to expand revenue opportunities by creating integrated service
bundles that combine high speed data capabilities with a flexible range
of voice line options," said Guy Chenard, vice president, marketing
and business development, Integral Access. "The PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4
also allows service providers to widen their base of target customers
by supporting the delivery of profitable yet competitively-priced multi-line
voice and broadband data services for small office and home office customers."
Pricing and Availability
PurePacketNode v6.0 is available immediately worldwide. The PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4
is available immediately for international customers. List pricing for
a typical PurePacketNode ranges from $30,000 to $100,000 USD, or 33,129
to 110,430 EUR, depending on configuration and number of subscribers.
List pricing for the PurePacketOUTburst-Sx4 is approximately $1000 USD,
or 1,104 EUR.
PurePacket Overview
The PurePacket multi-service access system enables carriers to deliver
all services over a single network using virtually any transport media
including copper pairs, xDSL, leased lines, and fiber links. It is the
first 100 percent packet-based access solution that utilizes MPLS to optimize
bandwidth efficiencies and make connectionless networks behave like their
connection-oriented predecessors. PurePacket preserves the QoS and Class
of Service (CoS) levels of traditional circuit-based networks, and provides
the resource efficiency of IP transport by dynamically allocating bandwidth
between voice, video and data applications. The PurePacket system is composed
of the award winning PurePacketNode carrier class access network aggregation
platform for central offices, co-locations, and points of presence; the
PurePacketCompactÔ which provides the same service capabilities
as the PurePacketNode for small campus, in-building or low density applications;
PurePacketOUTburst customer premise IADs; and the robust and flexible
PurePacketOMS for network/element control and services management.
