Integral Access to Address Deployment of
IP-Based Public Networks at Two Industry Events in Europe

Executives to Discuss Role of MPLS in Delivering IP-Based Voice, Video, Data and VPN Services

CHELMSFORD, Mass. - Aug. 17, 2001 - Integral Access®, Inc. -- the intelligent MPLS access company -- today announced that it will present at two leading industry events in Europe to discuss the approaches, challenges, and opportunities associated with building multi-service IP-based public networks. Integral Access executives will deliver sessions on MPLS-based VPNs, and Planning Multi-Service Networks. Integral Access develops packet-based integrated access systems, under the PurePacket™ brand, that use the MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) standard to guarantee service level agreements.

The company is a founding member of the MPLS Forum, an industry-wide association whose mission is to accelerate interoperability and deployment of MPLS and its associated technologies. Integral Access chaired the Application and Deployment Working Group of the MPLS Forum, and edited the Voice over MPLS (VoMPLS) specification, which was recently ratified as a standard. VoMPLS enables service providers to very efficiently transport voice services across IP/MPLS networks, manage call quality, and optimize bandwidth utilization in resource constrained access networks. This new standard is expected to spur vendor innovation and carrier deployment of MPLS-based communications equipment.
