Access, a Chelmsford maker of telecom services delivery platforms, has
named Jack Cicon, a 30-year telecom vet and a former Lucent Technologies
executive, as president and CEO.
Integral
Access founder Jeff Wake will now serve as full-time chairman and remain
actively involved with the company.
"Jack
Cicon has built and managed Lucent's multi-service access business into
one of the company's fastest growing and most successful units," Wake
said. "(His) extensive business, operations and technical management background,
deep knowledge of the carrier market, and proven execution skills will
play a central role in steering Integral Access to its next level."
The
privately held company also announced that its technology platform, PurePacket,
now supports fiber-optic networks. PurePacket, which already works with
copper wire, Digital Subscriber Line and other delivery methods, allows
carriers to deliver converged services over a single multi-purpose network
regardless of the last mile link method.
Integral
Access is privately held and has raised $61 million in venture capital
from Ascent Venture Partners, BancBoston Ventures, Prism Venture Partners
and other investors.
Its
customers are network operators, especially competitive local exchange
carriers and incumbent local exchange carriers, looking to deliver voice,
video, broadband data and virtual private network services.
