Integral Access Participates in Inter-Operability Demonstrations At MGCP Testing Event: ipGen Announces Event a Great Success

RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 2001--ipGen, Inc., a SoftSwitch and multimedia applications provider for convergent networks, today announces exceptional conformance at the MGCP Interop event held on April 22-26 in Durham, New Hampshire. The event attracted a number of organizations with independently developed implementations of the MGCP protocol for both Media Gateways and Media Gateway Controllers. ipGen's robust Media Gateway Controller implementation of MGCP (RFC2705) successfully interoperated with all available Media Gateways at the event.

ipGen's MGCP stack seamlessly performed Level 1 (hot line call), Level 3 (audit messaging call), and Level 4 (call waiting / call forwarding) conformance tests and successfully demonstrated interoperability at Level 7 (media server connectivity) establishing critical elements necessary in
providing next generation, value added services. The event was held to assess the ability of independent development teams from different companies to create inter-operable devices based on the MGCP Standard RFC2705, and to identify areas where differences in interpretation could adversely impact interoperability.
