Service providers looking for a next generation access solution as a complement to a next generation network and services solution, have to look no further than Integral Access' PurePacket. PurePacket provides the next generation IP/MPLS access component of a complete all-packet next generation network offering voice, data and video services. The PurePacket next-generation solution is shown in the network architecture diagram below. PurePacket has been designed and optimized to serve the requirements for those looking for a packet-based access solution. The PurePacket difference is all traffic is packet-based, including voice, and managed using MPLS Labeled Switch Paths (LSPs). Advanced traffic management techniques allow all traffic to be managed to meet service-specific requirements, such as low latency for voice or dedicated bandwidth for dedicated data service applications (eg. Committed Information Rate). PurePacketOUTburst® provides Integrated Access Device (IAD) functionality and both the PurePacketNode® and PurePacketCompact provide an access aggregation function for all packet traffic. A PurePacketNode is shown in the picture. Completing the portfolio is the PurePacketOMS (Operations Management System) that provides a common management system for the entire PurePacket solution, as opposed to multiple management systems commonly associated with multiple product implementations. For a service provider this translates into operations efficiencies in provisioning and configuring network elements as well as delivering new services. A next generation network provides traditional and enhanced voice services using SoftSwitch architecture. This makes it possible for a service provider to deliver services using a distributed architecture that allows each functional component to scale independently. With PurePacket, a service provider can cost effectively introduce enhanced IP services, enter new markets, or implement small-scale deployments. Yet this same architecture will scale to large market sizes as demand for services grow. PurePacket provides the access gateway function to support traditional and enhanced voice services in SoftSwitch architecture. For data traffic, PurePacket performs an edge router function, directing IP traffic onto a service provider's core network where it is routed to the Internet or a Private Network domain. As core networks continue to evolve to MPLS, the PurePacket access network solution is a complementary component leading to the deployment a complete MPLS solution, from access to core. |
